your role in the kingdom of God

do you feel you are failing in every role you are given in life? As a daughter of the king, you should know…

May I ask you to do me a favor if you will please, can you please sit back and picture yourself at various age groups throughout your life for a brief moment? I promise I have a point!

Did you notice a difference in each one? Of course, you did, because that is life, and as we grow we become wise and more grounded in figuring out our mistakes and growing from them, becoming wiser and more redefined you that you are today!

With each stage of your life, there was a role you filled that God gave specifically to each season.

The many Roles

Sit back and think of all the roles you have had in the last 5 years, and then the roles you have today for a moment, and realize all that you give of yourself to these roles.

Our lives have changed a lot in five years and with each change we have stepped into new roles and stepped out of others, but all in God’s control and design when being obedient to Him.

The area that can hinder our roles is that of comparing and doubting this truth, that “God has His best for you right now in this season, in the role you are currently assigned to.”

For you mothers who have littles and are never finding a moment for yourselves. Or those mamas who are watching their littles grow up into young adults and finding themselves all alone as they seem to be busy with their own lives.

The seasons are very different from each other and therefore so are the roles that you fill during these times. But each very equally just as important and vital to your family’s life and to you as well.

When life is flying by us and the house is never the way we would desire it to be and laundry is our constant reminder that we are always behind in life! We need to remember the role we fill first before all of this is that of a Daughter in the Kingdom of God here on earth!

“You have lost that focus of your Kingdom Role and it affects every other assignment in your life.”

-Pamela Allaart

Your Role as God’s Kingdom Daughter

When we begin to apply all our energy and focus on who God called us to be we can conquer the roles He has assigned us to in other areas of our life and seasons.

But when we fail to place priorities in our life, we find that we feel off-balance and overwhelmed with emotions and feelings that we tend to not know where they came from because there are just so many things out of our control.

This is because the one area that God assigned specifically to you as your first role, you have let slip to the side. You have lost that focus of your Kingdom Role and it affects every other assignment in your life.

We must remember that our first assignment in life as a woman is to be the Daughter of a King! And when you look through the Bible you can find some pretty amazing women who knew how to live out their role in obedience and keep their focus in the right area.

Mary, mother of Jesus. Ruth, wife of Boaz. Queen Esther. Elizebeth, mother of John the Baptist. Rachel, a beloved wife. Hagar, who was wronged in many areas, but still served the Lord in obedience. Mary Magdelene, a devoted follower. Martha, a devoted servant. Rebekah, a chosen wife. Deborah, a woman of obedience.

All these women and more in the bible knew how to be obedient to the assigned role that God had fit for their life.

Keeping our Focused Roles

There are testimonies of women all throughout history that have been obedient and served their role as Kingdom Daughter before all other roles. This seems so much easier to talk about than to actually walk it out every day, but with practice and the strength of the Holy Spirit, your roles will all flow with peace and joy!

When we stop trying to fit ourselves into our daily roles and stop trying to be the best we can at those roles and just focus on HIM, we will find that those roles become easier and just seem to be controlled by themselves without your detailed requirements.

This is because you are putting your hope, trust, and strength in Jesus Christ and not upon yourself every day. We were not meant to carry the burdens of this world and those responsibilities that come from the world. That of keeping up with our jobs, homes, and families.

All these are controlled by God Himself, but we tend to forget this and try to manage it all on our own. When we try to control all our assignments at once we begin to crumble at the scenes.

We have all been there, crying over all the heaping laundry, a disoriented home that you cannot even walk through without your mind so scrambled you cannot think. And knowing it is all dependant upon you to fix it… “We have all been there mama.”

When you begin to put priorities and hedges around your time each day, you are no longer trying to fit into “different roles” you just become God’s Kingdom Daughter that He created you to be and every role assigned to you just seems to fit with ease.

He knew at the point of fashioning you, what you would be doing today as a Kingdom Daughter. And gave you the ability and skills to complete exactly what and where you are… right now in your life!

Even if you are in a role or stage in your life that feels like quicksand or drying cement; just know that even in this, God has fashioned in you something great that can withstand the quicksand and dig out the drying cement!

Focus where it counts

I have heard many women tell me “Just make time to spend with God each day and if you have to, just wake up at the butt-crack of dawn… that’s what I have to do” they would always say to me! But ladies, I am not a morning person.

Don’t get me wrong, I love my coffee and my alone time in the mornings but not at sunrise! And let’s face it, all of our lives have different demands, requests, and roles that cannot fit the same into everyone’s lifestyle.

So I have put together a few helpful tips that I know work for me and help me to walk out my day in the Spirit of peace. (when I am obedient to them- this is key for us all!)

1. Ask God for Help!

Yes, I did just say that! You would be so surprised how often we get so busy and so used to controlling what we feel God gave us to “do” that we don’t ask Him to help us. Just simply ask Him “Lord, I cannot do all this and I’m drowning. I don’t know how or where to begin, please help me and guide me, allow me to hear your instruction today as you guide me and teach me to fulfill my role”

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and mind through Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 4:6-7

2. Seek His Word

Without His word in our lives, we are incapable of living life to the fullness that God created it to be for us. If you desire to become God’s Kingdom Daughter, you must apply His word to your situations and stresses.

What stresses you the most today? (take a moment and really think about this)

Google a scripture to combat that stress with the Truth of what God says about it, then write it all throughout your home and meditate and repeat that scripture until you believe it and walk in it.

If you have to make a journal full of declarations (I have mine and love it!) that you need to speak to yourself and openly in your home to saturate your home’s environment with the word of Truth… Girl, you do it!

There is power in your words when you speak them. Find the time to speak God’s word over your day, chores, tasks, employment, children, husband, etc. “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.” (Girl, eat your fruit for the day!)

But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided to you.

Matthew 6:33

3. Ask for your daily plan

Did you know that Jesus loves being involved in your everyday life choices? I cannot tell you how many times I have walked around my home all disorganized and messy and I have asked God “Father, what do I do first? What should I do right now?”

And guess what, He tells me! There are times when I will go to complete one of my many cleaning projects and the Lord will tell me “Leave that and load the dishwasher and start a load of laundry”. No joke ya’ll, God loves to be involved in our day, and who better because God sees what our day will unfold before we do!

So take a moment and don’t try to control your day and tasks just sit in silence and focus on Him and pray to Him, talk to Him as you would a friend, and allow Him to guide your day!

He knows what is best for you for “that day”. We may think knocking out the entire house cleaning would be a great idea, but the Lord sees your day and your heart and He knows what is best, so He may put upon your heart to only do the laundry.

Now, when you do ask and get a reply in an image, a slight soft voice, an inkling in your spirit. (However, you hear from God!) be obedient to it, and trust that He is talking to you and cares about your day and tasks!

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.

Psalm 32:8

4. Accept who you are

It is very hard to accept who we truly are in the image that God sees us, as saved and sanctified through the blood of Jesus Christ. We find it hard to keep up with what we perceive to be the image of what God expects of us.

But if you are truly going to walk out of your role as a daughter of the King, you need to accept that you were created for acceptance by God just as you are right now.

If you cannot accept who you are in Christ Jesus then you will always struggle in all of your roles that God has given you. There will always be this up-and-down cycle in not only your life habits and patterns but also in your spiritual life as well.

This is not how God intended your life to be my friend. God has given you a role in which you were created to succeed in His strength and excel in everything you touch in this role. The enemy wants you to stay down when he kicks you, but you need to get back up and know who you are and be happy for the person you see in the mirror every day. Speak to that woman and declare the word of God over her every day and encourage yourself to walk out the will of God in your roles today!

Sure you may slip up and fall, but did it kill you? Nope, so get back up, try again, and keep going! God’s mercy and grace are new every day!

Through the Lord’s mercies, we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.
