What if I told you that you were like a king, created to rule in your own kingdom? Would you laugh it off because of so many fairy tale books you have read or would you accept what you were created for?
Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom was of this world, my servants would fight so that I should not be delivered to the Jews. But now My kingdom is not from here.”John 18:36
It’s amazing that Jesus had not yet ascended nor was seated at the right hand of the Father during this conversation with Pilate. Yet He still understood His dominion, power, and authority.
Why is it that we as children of God do not understand nor have the mindset like Christ had?
We are not of this world. We are of our Father and we have a Kingdom that God has given us as an inheritance.
Many understand this because it is in the word of God. But what many do not comprehend in their hearts or life, is that this kingdom is here on earth.
In the beginning, God created a beautiful kingdom (what we call earth), and then he placed man in that kingdom to have power, dominion, and authority over it.
But because of being deceived in the garden, we lost the mindset of our inheritance to this kingdom. And satan has worked hard to ensure many of God’s children do not retain this knowledge still today.
Our kingdom is not from earth, however, it is from our Father who created the earth to be the kingdom in which we reign. As I mentioned, we did lose this for a time because what the flesh could not do in that it was weak, God did by sending His only begotten Son to complete for us
So that we may once again have our rightful reign and dominion back on this earth as sons and daughters of God. Jesus came to earth in the flesh to conquer what we could not. So that we could have what we in the flesh lost.
And because He has given to us all the power and authority once again, we can now rule once again in this earth as it was in the garden. Praise Jesus!
Our responsibility in the kingdom
Right after God created man, His next decree was that we would have dominion. Then the Lord blessed us, giving us the authority and declaration of our rightful place in this kingdom. He then spoke to us to be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it.
Then God said, “let Us make man in Our image, according to Our to likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth” So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves (moves about) on the earth.”
When God said be fruitful and multiply, He was not talking about just reproduction ~ He was also talking about being fruitful in the things of the Lord, in our dominion and authority, and multiply that which He has given us authority over to each generation.
To fill the earth and subdue, meaning we are to fill the earth with those whom we can leave our inheritance of dominion to. Subdue means to bring under control. What God has instructed us here is that we are to have offspring that obeys the word of the Lord and His commandments.
And in doing so we are bringing the earth and all that is in it under our control with each generation that serves the Lord and heeds His voice and not the voice of the evil one.
God created this kingdom to be ruled by kings, by those in authority. And He decreed it to be His children to whom would rule and reign in this kingdom.
God’s ways are Kingdom ways, there are rules, orders, and decrees that are established in not only His kingdom but also ours here on earth. The reason for such things is because God is a God of order!
For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.1 Corinthians 14;33
I understand this can be something most would put aside and say “yes I already know this.” But do you live it in your daily lives? Are you victorious in your day and reigning the world around you as it were your kingdom?
Many claim to understand this, but the fruits of their knowledge of this are unseen in their lives. By the things you hear come out of their mouth, the actions they have towards others around them, and the way they portray themselves in trials.
If you were truly reigning this kingdom around you then you would understand that you shift the atmosphere around you because you have power and dominion of that atmosphere.
Get in your word now more than ever so that we can fill and subdue the earth as Jesus did when He came to redeem us and show us how it is done on earth as it is in heaven!
You will begin to see victory in many areas of your life once we get this understanding, just as Jesus did. Is it going to be easy? No, it is not because the enemy does not want you to live as a king in your own kingdom.
The enemy desires to be the king of this kingdom and will do anything he can to keep you from being victorious in this. That is why the word of God is so important and must not be neglected.
I too am working on this as the Lord has been showing me this revelation, and the more I seek His face and get into His word to transform my heart. The more I am understanding what God is talking about and what gift this kingdom is that He has given us.
Let’s work together, building each other up and edifying each other by what we speak so that we can all begin to take our reign and authority in this kingdom together!
Remember who you are! This is something I always tell my 5 year old son when he begins to act out like someone he was not created to be! And it is wisdom to tell myself every day as well! Be blessed!
