The deception of Distraction

Ever find yourself being faithful in the things of God, only days later to be slacking in them? There is always a deception behind your distraction, sometimes you just have to see it.

I had been very faithful at speaking outloud the promises of God over my children, my husband, and my household.

The Holy Spirit allowed me to see what speaking Gods promises outloud does in the spiritual realm.

I began speaking to certain mountains and walls that were barriers in our life put there by the enemy. Let me tell you, the enemy was losing ground in our life praise, God!

But then my war was stopped in its tracks as I lay in bed barely able to open my eyes or speak. I laid there for hours as my body was resting and my stomach was turning in agony.

“This sickness was my distraction, and satan knew it.”

The Lord showed me that the attack was not the sickness all in itself, but the attack was used to keep me quiet.

The enemy had used sickness to keep me from speaking the promises of God and declaring out loud what my family will have as our inheritance.

(If you are not aware of the power of your tongue and that what you speak brings life or death, I urge you dear brothers and sisters to ask God to show you this and get in your word regarding this.)

The sickness was a decoy and what flowed from the sickness was the plot of the enemy. Thinking the sickness alone was the attack, that was only his physical attack. Satan has a spiritual attack through this physical attack that sadly worked… But for a moment!

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

1 Peter 5:8

Ladies and Gentlemen, when the enemy is coming at you with something in your life that you know is an attack. I urge you to ask the Holy Spirit what the real reason for the attack is because I guarantee you the “attack” is only brought to you for a distraction to keep you from something the Lord has called you to do.

I am not saying that we need to focus our attention on “every single” attack that satan puts in front of us. Please don’t do this, keep your focus on the Lord and all His peace will flow from this.

But there are certain areas in our life that the Lord wants to bring attention too, but we must pay attention to the Holy Spirit within us.

There may be something in your life right now that the Lord has placed upon your heart to do or continue, and something in your life has caused a distraction from you being obedient to what the Lord has asked of you.

Ask the Holy Spirit to show you the distractions, perhaps you will be surprised that it stems from an attack of the enemy in your life that you may not have even known was from the enemy.

Or perhaps like me, something that you may have considered as an attack, but did not know there was a deeper purpose for the attack.

When the Lord reveals to you the truth, you will be set free! Free to get back to what the Lord has placed upon your heart to continue doing or start doing.

Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Luke 10:19

Be blessed brothers and sisters and remember that God has given you all power and authority over the enemy, do not let the enemy’s thoughts become your own! I pray this has encouraged you as it has for me. The Lord is so good!
